A little bit of this and a little bit of that

I was bad at blogging before having a baby. I thought that once I had Audri I would keep the blog updated better but it turns out I have just gotten worse. So instead of doing a bunch of posts about what has been going on here lately I figured I would just make one long one.

Halloween

This year for Halloween we went to the Rockwood's house for a party. I will admit I was a little out of it this year and couldn't decided what to be so at the last minute we found some make-shift cotumes. Ricky went as Alessandro del Piero (a famous soccer player for those of you like me who don't know who that is) and I went as a Jazz fan since I had a jersey from way back in my glory days of working at fanzz. We didn't buy a costume for Audri but sweet Kristen Rockwood had an old costume from her daughter and she let us borrow it so Audri ended up being a pumpkin. And a mighty cute one at that.

Little pumpkin falling alseep.

Audri smiling in her sleep.

Two Months

The last two months have flown by. Audri is getting so big. She started sleeping through the night at seven weeks. She is happy and smiley unless you are changing her bum or she is hungry. She cooes like crazy and is starting to laugh. We went to her two month appointment and she weighed in at 10 and a half pounds and she was 22 inches long. I personally think she has gained most of her weight in her cute chubby cheeks. I just want to eat them up.

Blessing

Audriana was blessed on November 7th. Ricky did a wonderful job. The blessing was so beautiful. After we had family and friends over for some good food.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of her in her dress. Maybe I should put her back in it before she gets too big and take a couple.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this year. We went to Ricky's mom's house for lunch and then to my brother Steven's house for dinner. I was dreading two Thanksgiving meals because you always end up so stuffed that by the end you are so bloated and miserable you wished you hadn't eaten anything. The spacing between the two meals ended up being perfect and neither of us had to be rolled out the door when the time came to go home. I didn't get pictures at Yoly's house but I managed to snap a few at my brother's.

Audri's first Thanksgiving

After dinner we played rock band. We got my dad to sing and all I can say is it was HILARIOUS! The highlight of the evening was when he sang Michael Jackson's Beat It he didn't just sing but did a little dancin' as well.

I am loving being a mother. When Ricky and I got married I thought I knew what joy was but ever since I became a mom I have realized I only had just a little taste of it. I have been so blessed and I am VERY greatful for ALL that I have.

What do you...

...make for breakfast? Now that I have more time in the morning I would love to make a more nutritious breakfast  for the husband. We usually have some type of boring old cereal. When I do make breakfast it is one of three meals: pancakes, eggs and toast, or french toast. So I am wondering what you make for breakfast. Any suggestions/recipes would be great.

I absolutely LOVE days like this!

One Minute

Audri does not like for her bottom to be changed so as I was changing it the other day it was no surprise that she was crying. As soon as I was finished changing her bum I went to throw the diaper away and wash my hands. As I was washing my hands she went silent. Upon entering her room I found her like this...

In the 60 seconds it took me to throw away the diaper and wash my hands the cute little girl  had fallen asleep. I called Ricky upstairs to come see and we both had a good chuckle.

One Down...

People always say how much joy a child brings into your life but you can never fully understand until you experience it yourself. Audriana is one month today. The time has flown by. It is bittersweet really. I can't wait to see what the future holds but at the same time I want her to stay little forever. Audri, like her momma, loves to be cuddled. She HATES her bottom changed and don't mess with her when she is hungry. When we were in the hospital one of the nurses told us she was a "ferocious eater" and man was she right. Both Ricky and I are loving being parents to such a sweet little girl. So here is to one month down and eternity to go.

Photo shoot

Audriana had her newborn pictures taken a few weeks back and we just got them in. They turned out better than I ever could have imagined.

Ouch! That hurt!

Where have the last two weeks gone? One minute I was being admitted to the hospital to be induced and the next I was sitting in the pediatricians office for Audri's two week visit. Can someone please tell Father Time I would greatly appreciate it if he could slow things down just a bit.

Our sweet little girl weighed in at 7 pounds and 7 ounces. She was still 20 inches long.

Poor Ricky was traumatized at this visit. I had previously told him about the PKU test and what it entailed but he completely forgot. He just "happened" to be holding her when the nurse asked for her heel. Audri was happy and content one minute and screaming the next. Once the nurse had finished and left the room he let me know that that was the worst experience of his life.

How cute are little baby feet?

Just Because

One day at work before I went on maternity leave a delivery man walked in with these beauties.

Flowers rarely come my way so when he said I have a delivery for Amy Martinez you can imagine my surprise. My sweet and thoughtful husband sent them just to say I love you. The best part was the card and for all you bachelorette fans you will know what I am talking about when it said "I will guard and protect your heart." I had a good laugh. So here is a big THANK YOU to my wonderful husband for the gorgeous flowers and for keeping me laughing.

Cooked

Lucy love love loves to bask in the sun on the back deck. I let her out a couple weeks ago and when she finally came back in I guess she had been outside way too long. I found her on the couch like this...

Come and Gone

That's right my due date has come and gone. It seems our little girl is much to comfortable in there to want to come out. We went to the dr's this past Tuesday (her actual due date) and we were hoping he would say I could be induced on Thursday but no such luck. I still had not progressed from being a 1 so he said he wanted to wait one week. We now have an official due date of September 7th. That is if she doesn't come before. Doubtful that she will. So here is to being as patient as possible and looking forward to meeting our sweet little bundle of joy in 4 days.

Grocery Shopping

Dear Lady waiting to check out,

I know you must be in a hurry but since this is walmart NOTHING ever goes fast here. Ramming your cart up my rear end will not make the cashier or the credit card machine go any faster so PLEASE back off and give me at least enough space so that I can fit in between your cart and mine.

Thank you ever so kindly,
The lady who had to use a crow bar to get your cart unstuck.

You never know what to expect when running to walmart and the other day I have to say for the first time ever I was wedged between two carts and the lady wedging me did NOT care at all. I was in the check out line and had a lot of stuff. I was standing to the side of my cart loading the groceries as the cashier rang them up. As she got closer the the end of my items I stepped back to the top of my cart so I could pay for my items. As I was standing there a lady about mid 40's came and put her few items on the belt. As her items moved closer and closer to the scanner so did she. I noticed she was getting a little too close if you know what I mean and I scooted as close to my cart as possible (with a pregnant belly it's not as easy as it used to be.) I ran my card through the machine and was just waiting for it to process when the next thing I knew she was hitting my ever so lovely ghetto booty with her cart. If you know me at all I am not one to say anything so I shot her a NASTY look which she did not even notice. I didn't know if she wanted to give me a ride or just pay for my groceries so she could get out of there faster. Needless to say I collected my groceries shooting her another nasty glare (again she took no notice) and left. My question is who doesn't know when there cart has hit something and then look to see what it is and when you notice it is a persons say I am sorry? Only at walmart would you find a person like that.

Happy Belated Birthday

I just wanted to give a quick late Happy Birthday shout out to this wonderful man, whom I adore!
He turned 27 on Wednesday. I am so very blessed to be in his life and I love him more than words could ever express so with that Happy Birthday Ricky! I hope it was everything and more than you expected.
