When I Grow Up

When I was younger I wanted to be just like my older sister. If she wanted to be a teacher so did I. If she wanted to be a nurse so did I. Even if she wanted to be a garbage woman so did I. (She never really wanted to be a garbage woman for the record but if she had I would have wanted to as well.) I eventually grew out of that phase and set my aspirations high. I was going to be amazing and successful. I was going to be a doctor. I think that was when I was about 10. Once I decided to be a doctor my mind was made up. People would ask what I wanted to be and I would always say a doctor. I don't know when it happened but sometime in high school I started to change my mind. People would ask and I would still say a doctor but secretly... I just wanted to be a wife and mom. My senior year I took a medical assisting class and started working in a doctors office. I soon learned that the last thing I wanted was to be a doctor with long hours away from my family. My dream of wanting to be a doctor changed just like that. I still had to be something so I picked the next best thing, a nurse. I would take a couple classes here and there but I could never stay focused for long. I knew what I wanted and it wasn't this. I had this longing to be a wife and a mother. Nothing else would suffice. Then one day after a very strange introduction I met someone. At first I blew it off. It couldn't be. What I was aching for was staring me in the face. A whirlwind later and I was married to my Mr. Perfect. Everything I have ever wanted he has given me. So with all that said I got my dream of being a wife and mom. It is better than I could have ever imagined.

Some updated photos since it's been so long.
 Getting ready for bed.

My feet are mmm mmm good.

Audri's first time eating rice cereal. After a couple of bites she started crying. It took 2 months for her to eat any type of solids without bursting into tears.

Playing in the bath tub.

She loves her carrots.

Dad is dancing for her. She loves it!

Dad is tickling  her. She absolutely LOVES her daddy. He walks into the room and she lights up. Her eyes follow him everywhere he goes.

Just being cute.

Helping dad with is work.

A little bit of this and a little bit of that

I was bad at blogging before having a baby. I thought that once I had Audri I would keep the blog updated better but it turns out I have just gotten worse. So instead of doing a bunch of posts about what has been going on here lately I figured I would just make one long one.

Halloween

This year for Halloween we went to the Rockwood's house for a party. I will admit I was a little out of it this year and couldn't decided what to be so at the last minute we found some make-shift cotumes. Ricky went as Alessandro del Piero (a famous soccer player for those of you like me who don't know who that is) and I went as a Jazz fan since I had a jersey from way back in my glory days of working at fanzz. We didn't buy a costume for Audri but sweet Kristen Rockwood had an old costume from her daughter and she let us borrow it so Audri ended up being a pumpkin. And a mighty cute one at that.

Little pumpkin falling alseep.

Audri smiling in her sleep.

Two Months

The last two months have flown by. Audri is getting so big. She started sleeping through the night at seven weeks. She is happy and smiley unless you are changing her bum or she is hungry. She cooes like crazy and is starting to laugh. We went to her two month appointment and she weighed in at 10 and a half pounds and she was 22 inches long. I personally think she has gained most of her weight in her cute chubby cheeks. I just want to eat them up.

Blessing

Audriana was blessed on November 7th. Ricky did a wonderful job. The blessing was so beautiful. After we had family and friends over for some good food.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good picture of her in her dress. Maybe I should put her back in it before she gets too big and take a couple.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday this year. We went to Ricky's mom's house for lunch and then to my brother Steven's house for dinner. I was dreading two Thanksgiving meals because you always end up so stuffed that by the end you are so bloated and miserable you wished you hadn't eaten anything. The spacing between the two meals ended up being perfect and neither of us had to be rolled out the door when the time came to go home. I didn't get pictures at Yoly's house but I managed to snap a few at my brother's.

Audri's first Thanksgiving

After dinner we played rock band. We got my dad to sing and all I can say is it was HILARIOUS! The highlight of the evening was when he sang Michael Jackson's Beat It he didn't just sing but did a little dancin' as well.

I am loving being a mother. When Ricky and I got married I thought I knew what joy was but ever since I became a mom I have realized I only had just a little taste of it. I have been so blessed and I am VERY greatful for ALL that I have.

What do you...

...make for breakfast? Now that I have more time in the morning I would love to make a more nutritious breakfast  for the husband. We usually have some type of boring old cereal. When I do make breakfast it is one of three meals: pancakes, eggs and toast, or french toast. So I am wondering what you make for breakfast. Any suggestions/recipes would be great.

I absolutely LOVE days like this!

One Minute

Audri does not like for her bottom to be changed so as I was changing it the other day it was no surprise that she was crying. As soon as I was finished changing her bum I went to throw the diaper away and wash my hands. As I was washing my hands she went silent. Upon entering her room I found her like this...

In the 60 seconds it took me to throw away the diaper and wash my hands the cute little girl  had fallen asleep. I called Ricky upstairs to come see and we both had a good chuckle.
